Ugandan professor strips to protest being locked outside her office

The Ugandan professor, Dr. Stella Nyanzi claimed she was being oppressed by the University director at Makerere  in Uganda, she claimed her boss was forcing her to teach his PhD classes which said was not in her contract.

Drama started when Prof Mahmood Mamdani asked Nyanzi to vacate her office because she had refused to partake in a PhD programme at the Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR). read more....


I have thrown my clothes outside Prof. Mamdani’s office. I am naked as I cry out for my office,” she posted on her Facebook page.
Before stripping, Nyanzi shared photos of her locked office terming it as “oppression” and threatened to “undress herself to the nude”. She then proceeded to Mamdani’s office where she undressed and deposited her pieces of clothing at the door.

Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) director Mamhood Mamdani issued a statement on Saturday, April 16 explaining the background to the decision to remove Nyanzi from her office at MISR  after she had refused to teach in the MPhil/PhD program.
