It was the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Star Wars fans had sat through a movie that lasted more than 130 minutes waiting for one moment.
Rey was climbing the seemingly endless stairs of the first Jedi Temple where Luke Skywalker was reportedly hiding. You know, like all brave Jedis do after their apprentice doesn't turn out as they had hoped.
And there he was. A robed figure, most likely Luke himself.
He turns and lowers his hood.....
Let's just say Mark Hamill hasn't aged extremely well since his days in the original trilogy, but fans were overjoyed to see him nonetheless.
"What would he say?" fanatics wondered to themselves in their seats with their popcorn supply dwindling in their laps.
The answer was ... spoiler alert ... nothing. He just stood there as Rey offered him his old lightsaber, which Luke ... um ... left with Maz Kanata.
It's been a few months, and the Star Wars community has had time to get over the stunned silence of Luke. Now, the Internet has taken over.

Luke Skywalker says..
Instead of standing there all sullen, this parody video posted on YouTube has Luke grab the lightsaber/mic and show his best karaoke impression of Celine Dion's rendition of All By Myself. Rey seems to enjoy, as evidenced by her holding up a lighter. Much better ending.
Thank God for the Internet, right?
