The year 2016 has been quite eventful with Nigerian celebrities. By virtue of who they are, their lives are far from private – though they could very well keep their private lives private. Ice Prince & Maima
In January, all hell broke loose on social media with Ice Prince in the middle of it all. Ice Prince’s gorgeous Ghanaian girlfriend Maima Nkewa took to her Instagram page to declare her undying love for the rapper but a certain ‘Obinnaji’ called her out, alleging she was cheating with a certain ‘Akin’.
Later on a certain person uploaded photos – ( proof) of her and Akin being at the same location at the same time while she was still Ice Prince’s girl.
Ice Prince, to the surprise of many, defended and stuck to his girl.
AY & Mabel Makun
In February, reports surfaced that the wife of ace comedian, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY, had reportedly moved out of their home owing to alleged domestic violence.
However, the comedian who was out of the country at the time debunked the reports tagging it just another made up story by bloggers who seek to spread unconfirmed stories to their advantage. Mabel also shut down the claim by declaring the comedian her ‘Man crush for Life’, indicating all was well in their home. She took to Instagram and wrote, “If you don’t know my story, don’t try to tell it.”
Toyin Aimakhu & Segun Egbegbe
Sometime in Febuary, the media was abuzz with news of popular Yoruba actress Toyin Aimakhu’s alleged kidnap by her then boyfriend Ebony TV boss, Seun Egbegbe. This was followed by an attempt by Seun to exonerate himself from the accusation, after which the actress “disassociated” herself from his person, and apologised to fans for moving on too quickly after her marriage crashed.
Obviously pained by the disgraceful manner in which Toyin Aimakhu dumped him, and in an attempt to get back at the actress, Egbegbe in a couple of interviews and media rants, continued throwing daggers at the actress – how her career was over and her alleged promiscuity.
Mide Martins & Afeez Owo
In April, actress Mide Martins accused her husband producer husband, Afeez Owo of leaving her with their two children following cheating allegations. She was later admitted in hospital reportedly due to trauma suffered over the public breakup. The couple however mended things not too long after with the actress confirming it on social media:

Tiwa Savage & Tunji Balogun
And only a couple of days ago, social media went crazy reacting to the unsavoury allegations of infidelity and neglect Tunji Balogun (Teebillz) made against his wife, Tiwa Savage. He also got friends and family in a frenzy with a suicide threat. He later claimed his Instagram handle had been hacked; deleted the posts and assured everyone all was well in their marriage.
However, Tiwa Savage responding to her husband’s allegations said she had never been unfaithful to her husband, but had endured much in their marriage. Unearthing a lot of hidden hurt, she confirmed that her marriage to Teebillz is over.
